AREngaged

Problem

Traditional classroom tools often struggle to support active, exploratory learning. Educational content is typically delivered through static materials that limit interaction, creativity, and spatial understanding—particularly for subjects that benefit from visual and experiential context.

Solution

AREngaged was conceived as an augmented reality learning platform exploring how spatial, interactive experiences could support student engagement and content comprehension. The product focused on enabling educators to introduce immersive learning moments without adding complexity to existing classroom workflows.

  • AREngaged filed trip list

Teachers initiate an immersive field trip experience from their device, activating the AR environment across student devices simultaneously to support shared exploration.

  • AREngaged jefferson mmemorial in parking lot

The experience is designed to encourage student interaction and curiosity, shifting learning from passive observation to active engagement within a shared spatial context.

  • AREngaged jefferson memorial with info card opened in close up view

AREngaged includes preloaded, curriculum-aligned content to reduce preparation overhead for educators while maintaining consistency with existing lesson plans.

  • A AREngaged student learning quiz to validate learning cocktail in a short glass

Optional, lightweight quizzes can be enabled within the experience to support formative assessment without relying on traditional testing methods.

Why This Matters

Student engagement in traditional classrooms has been declining for years, and static digital tools haven't solved it. AREngaged prototype testing told a different story: kids aged 5–13 were immediately captivated, and educators saw a path to curriculum-aligned content without added preparation burden.

When learning feels spatial and interactive rather than passive, engagement follows.
